This is the Glossary for Totem’s course Social Media Research
Anonymous: Adjective of “Anonymity”, the state of an individual's personal identity, or personally identifiable information, being publicly unknown.
Confidential: Done or communicated in confidence; secret.
Deniable: Capable of being denied or contradicted.
Fact-checking: The process of checking that all the facts in a piece of writing, a news article, a speech, etc. are correct
IGTV: A video application by Instagram which allows for longer videos compared to Instagram. While IGTV is available as a standalone app, basic functionality is also available within the Instagram app and website.
Instagram Profile & Post:
Private: Belonging to some particular person: private communication .
Screenshot: An image that shows the contents of a computer display.
Screenshotting: The action to take a screenshot.
